Question

What should I do if rain or flooding is forecasted in my area?

If you live in an area that is prone to heavy rainfall or flooding, you should take some precautions to protect your gas supply and equipment from water damage. Here are some tips to follow:

  • Do not cover the pressure relief valve or any vents on your tank or bottles, as this could cause a safety hazard.
  • Check your tank and bottles regularly for signs of rust, corrosion, or cracks. If you notice any damage, contact us immediately for a replacement or repair.
  • If your tank or bottles are submerged in water, do not attempt to use them or turn on any gas appliances. Water can enter the gas system and cause blockages, leaks, or explosions. Call us as soon as possible and we will send a technician if required to inspect your tank and equipment and make any necessary repairs or adjustments.
  • If your gas appliances are flooded, do not try to use them or turn on the gas supply. Water can damage the electrical components and cause fires, shocks, or carbon monoxide poisoning. Call a qualified gas engineer to check your appliances and ensure they are safe to use.
  • If you have any questions or concerns about your gas supply or equipment, please call our customer service team for advice and support. We are available 24/7 and ready to help you in any weather situation.
